Obituary for John Nathaniel Tucker

Capt. John Nathaniel Tucker (USMC Ret.), 42, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Jacksonville, North Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

He obtained an AAS Degree from Campbell University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He was one of the first African-American Marines to graduate from Marshall University with a Masters Degree in Leadership while still on active duty.

John will be forever cherished by: his beloved wife, Kellie Monique McKeithen Tucker; one son, John Nathaniel Tucker, Jr.; one daughter, Sarah Monique Tucker; his mother, Mattie Hancock Tucker; two brothers, Terry Tucker (Monica) and Michael Tucker (Tracey).

A Service Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Capt. John Nathaniel Tucker (USMC Ret.) will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the St. Julia A.M.E. Zion Church, 112 Kerr St., Jacksonville. Interment with full military honors will immediately follow the service in the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 101 Montford Point Rd., Jacksonville.
